FAUN-SITA

Early FAUN-Sita tilt-to-dump style paddle-packer on Mercedes-Benz chassis

By the 1970s, FAUN had partnered with a French firm to produce a paddle-packer rear loader under the FAUN-Sita brand name. Based on the modern new Sita 6000, it was initially built as as a tilt-to-dump body, with a simple and effective packing mechanism operating at a pressure of around 1,200 PSI. In the drawings below, note how the refuse is always being compacted, no matter which direction the paddle is moving:

FAUN-Sita used fixed cables to automatically open tailgate as body was raised, a vestige of 1920s technology

FAUN-SITA EJECTION DISCHARGE REAR LOADERS

In line with changes made to the French-market Sita 6000 body, the FAUN-Sita series adopted ejection-discharge in the early 1970s. Three models were offered; the 1200P (12 cbm capacity), 1600P (15 cbm) and the 2000P (19 cbm). All models now had a slightly higher working hydraulic pressure (1500 PSI), which was likely needed to move the compaction-ejection barrier. A fully-automatic, hydraulic locking/un-locking tailgate accompanied the new body, replacing the cable system of the original design.

The smallest FAUN-Sita was this 1200P (12cbm) which featured a shorter body height

A full compliment of Zöller binlift equipment was available, with interchangeable rear doors for easy conversion.
