Gnat side loader
This is believed to be the ancestor of the Gar Wood Load-Runner, and also may have been produced after the Load-Runner was discontinued. The design was patented by Charles E. Jones and William H. Riley, of Norristown, Pennsylvania in 1966. Gar Wood Industries produced their own version under license beginning in about 1969.

In the image shown here, what appears to be the packer cylinder is shown protruding vertically above the body. This would differ from the Gar Wood version, in which the cylinder was horizontal, and was punched through the vehicle cab. This image shows the unit on a 1964-66 model GMC 3500 V-6 truck, which would strongly suggest that it came from a brochure pre-dating the Gar Wood version. However, the image was found in a 1977 classified ad for a 1977-model GMC, from a leasing company in Chester, Pennsylvania. This may indicate that the "Gnat" body was locally produced in the Philadelphia before and after the Gar Wood Load-Runner.

Many thanks to Jared Martinson for help identifying the Gnat body
