Greer Hydraulics Inc.
Los Angeles, California
The Greer Bladder Accumulator is a hydraulic system that provides stored energy for the operating cycle. In the mid-1970s, the Greer system was built into 7-cubic yard refuse packer body. A small 3 GPM pump was used to recharge the bladder, and the packer could be operated with the engine off.
Since Greer was a hydraulic company, it is highly likely that the body was actually made by Fastpack, New Way, Wayne or another manufacturer. A trailerized version was also offered. Greer is now owned by Parker Hannifin.
