Morita is one of Japan's oldest producers of compaction refuse bodies. The earliest models were based on the Swiss Ochsner design, and by the 1960s other types were offered, the most popular being the PackMaster/MasterPack which used the Gar Wood rotary-sweep panel method. The rotary models have been steadily modernized during a long production run dating to at least 1965.
