Pace Corporation
Peoria and Kewanee, Illinois
Pacemaster was a line of enclosed bucket loading bodies from Pace Corporation of Peoria, Illinois. The earliest known models date to 1960, and were advertised as 16-yards with detachable buckets and some type of compaction plate. In 1961, the company moved to 3433 W. Farmington Road, and an all-aluminum body was announced. By 1963 the company had moved to Kewanee, Illinois with a new "wet garbage" model available in 7, 10, 13 or 16-yard sizes without compaction. A one-yard detachable bucket was used for garbage/rubbish collection, and the truck was also suitable for rendering collection.
No record of Pace Corporation is found after 1963, and it is believed that the company changed its name to Redispos Corporation, which made identical bodies from 1964 through the early 1970s.
