Sanitary Controls Bausenbach Push-n-Tilt front loader

In late 1966, Frank D. Palapoli founded New York Sani-Can Inc. for the manufacture of containers for solid waste, with operations based in Deer Park on Long Island. In early 1969, the company went public, and invested capital in improvements to the Deer Park facility. Palapoli collaborated with Arthur E. Bausenbach of Buffalo, who had been making front loaders since the late 1950s. The new Sanitary Controls Inc. expanded their product line to include Bausenbach's Push-n-Tilt line of front loaders. All had over-cab lift arms, and body capacities to 50-cubic yards were available. These are believed to have been partial-packers, evolved from similar types Bausenbach had distributed for the S. Vincen Bowles Co. of Sun Valley, California.

In addition to the front loaders, all types of containers, stationary packers and transfer station equipment were offered, as well as the Sani-Haul series of winch-operated roll-offs. In 1974, a new full-pack version of the Push-n-Tilt was announced, which was no longer called Bausenbach. The new Sanitary Controls front loader was rated at 35-cubic yards with 10,000 pound lift arms and a 9.5-inch diameter telescopic pack/eject cylinder. A top-hinged, hydraulically operated tailgate was standard. The front loader was advertised as late as 1976, but the company failed to renew its corporation papers that same year, and presumably ceased operations. Arthur Bausenbach died in 1979.
