U.S. Navy, Civil Engineering Lab Port Hueneme, California     One can be forgiven for thinking the cart-dumping carry-can for front loaders is a relatively new idea. However, the United States Navy produced a prototype of just such a device at the NCEL in Port Hueneme, CA way back in 1978! The testing model was attached to one of the service's E-Z Pack front loaders, which reportedly could be installed in 10-minutes. The ASL arm featured a 7-foot reach and foam-padded grippers which could grasp cartons as wells as barrels.
